When Can I move in? Providing we have the right size for you, you can move in the day you sign the contract in our office with our staff.


What type of document do I need to provide in order to rent a unit? we require a current, valid governmental Id with a photo of the tenant. Examples are: Drivers License, State ID, Passport.


How long do I have to rent? There is a one month minimum and then you convert to a month to month tenancy.

Is there a Security Deposit? Heavens No!

Am I required to have insurance on my unit? Yes, we are now requiring that provide evidence of their own insurance (Declaration Page). For those that do not have that available, we also offer tenant insurance at affordable monthly rates.

Are there additional fee(s)? there is a one time administrative Fee when renting each unit.

What size unit do I need?
First of all, thank you for your interest in storing your belongings at Rob Roy Storage. Although we have 8 different size storage unit’s that are on a first come first serve basis, it is difficult to determine what is available at any given time, considering this we have a listed a few option below. Typically we don’t feel it is in your best interest to just quote you one specific size and/or price because when it comes to selecting the right size storage unit we would like to consider the following variables when it comes to storing your belongings: ·
  • Since all of our units have 8 foot ceilings it depends on how high you want to stack your goods. Please keep in mind that items tend to get crushed unless they are in sturdy boxes or shelving units are used.
  • How cumbersome your belongings are. In other words, arte they stackable or not?
  • Do you need a specific dimension to accommodate a particular item being stored? Ex. Sofa, mattress hutch etc.?
  • How long you will be storing your goods. The reason I ask this is because if it for longer term storage, you might want to consider buying shelving to maximize the cubic footage rather than just square footage.
  • Will you be going to the unit frequently? If so, will you be needing an isle way in unit to conveniently access belongings?
For these reasons we always give approximate size ranges and encourage customers to come to the facility to look for themselves. In addition we want you to see if we fit your requirements relating to security, available gate hours, and customer service.

Are there any items that I am not permitted to store in my unit? Yes, . Occupant shall not conduct any activity in or around nor store any property in the storage unit which would result in violation of any ordinance, statute, or regulation of any governmental agency having jurisdiction, or permit such actions to occur. Occupant shall not use the premises for the storage of illegal substances, perishable or food items, paint, varnish, thinner, gasoline and/or other highly flammable materials. No animals, food, perishables, liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, and biological contaminants may be stored. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item. The rented premises shall not be used for operation of any business, for manufacturing, or production or for human or animal occupancy. Occupant shall not do or permit to be done any act which creates or may create a nuisance in connection with Occupant's use of the space

How do I secure the assigned storage unit? For your protection we require tenants to supply their own locks. Any type of standard padlock should work; We do sell high quality, inexpensive disc locks (recognized as being the safest in the industry) in the office.
How do I get access? Each tenant is assigned a personnel security code when renting out the unit, This code allows access during our normal gate access hours which is Monday - Sunday from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. You must be out of the facility by 8:00 PM or you will be locked into the facility!

How do I make a payment? You can pay in person, stop in at our office, mail a check, or make a credit card payment through our Website (www.robroystorage.com ) or call us over the phone. You may also sign up to have payments automatically charged to a credit or debit card.

What forms of payment do we accept? Cash, check, money orders, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express,

Do you accept deliveries? Unfortunately not. Since we do not keep keys to your unit and we are not able to accept deliveries.

What do I do when I am ready to leave the unit? We do require a 10-day advance written notification to terminate you rental agreement. We will prorate your rent to a daily rate based on us receiving the 10-day advanced notification during office hours.

Do we offer discounts: Yes, if a customer prepays 6 months in advance the 7th month is offered at a 50% discount. If a customer prepays 11 months in advance the 12th month is free. What if I don;t stay that long? We will prorate rent back to the original paid date not the discounted day(s).
